| Bio: | Subjects: Private Piano, Organ and Theory B.A. in Music (Acadia), M.A. in Music Critisicm (McMaster), Ed.D. in Aesthetics of Music (University of Toronto). Eugene Gates studied piano and organ with Douglas Bodle, Elsa Strainberg Noble, Eugene F. Gmeiner and Edwin A. Collins. He is a member of the Canadian University Music Society, and The RCM College of Examiners, and the author of articles published in Canadian Music Educator, Music Educators Journal, Journal of Aesthetic Education, University of Toronto Quarterly, Tempo, Journal of the American Liszt Society, Journal of the Dvorak Society, and Viva Voce. Mr. Gates is the organist and choirmaster of St. Barnabas Anglican Church in Toronto, and has been a member of The RCM Faculty since 1969. |
