How to Register for a Royal Conservatory Examination

1

Registration for the Winter Session of Royal Conservatory Examinations began Tuesday, September 11, 2012, and our friendly team of registrars have some helpful information on registering for Conservatory examinations.

Conducted four times each year in over 300 communities across North America through a network of local centres, Royal Conservatory Examinations fosters creativity in music and the arts, encourages artistry and goal-setting, and inspires a love of music.

The dates for our 2012–2013 Winter Session are:

  • December 14th and 15th, 2012 - Theory Examinations
  • January 14th – 26th, 2013 - Practical Examinations

The deadline to register for our Winter Session is November 6, 2012. Applications submitted after the deadline will be charged a $45.00 late-processing fee.

Registering is as simple as visiting us online and clicking on “Register for Examination”. Paper applications are available for candidates who would rather register via fax or mail.

Piano candidates registering online prior to the application deadline may choose the date and time for their examination as availability permits - if you prefer to take your examination during a particular time frame, you are advised to register early. Once timeslots for a particular examination centre are filled, candidates will be assigned an examination date and time by The Royal Conservatory Examinations.

Non-piano candidates registering online will have their examinations scheduled by The Royal Conservatory Examinations and can view and print their schedules on our website approximately 3-4 weeks before the start of the examination session.

All candidates submitting a paper application form will be assigned a date and time. Candidates applying with a paper application form will receive their schedules in the mail via Canada Post.

Still have questions? We are here for you! Our Candidate Services department is open Monday-Thursday from 8:30am – 6:00pm EST and Friday from 9:00am – 5:00pm EST. Contact us toll-free at 1-800-461-6058. One of our friendly Candidate Services Representatives will be happy to assist you with all your registration enquiries.

Good luck!
