Many Students and Alumni on CBC List of Top Young Classical Musicians
CBC has published its latest list of Canada's top 30 classical musicians under 30 years old and once again The Royal Conservatory is well-represented; this year 60% of the artists on the list have a Conservatory connection!
The 18 students and alumni named to the 2016 list include singers, composers, and a wide range of instrumentalists. Many have won prestigious international competitions, earned appointments to illustrious orchestras, and performed in cities around the world. They all share the experience of studying music through The Royal Conservatory Certificate Program or the professional programs of The Taylor Academy, The Glenn Gould School, and The Rebanks Family Fellowship and International Performance Residency Program.
The Royal Conservatory is collaborating with the CBC to showcase many of these talented young performers at a free concert in Mazzoleni Hall on May 7, 2017. The event is part of our new Sunday Interludes series; tickets go on sale May 1.
On November 10, 2016 The Royal Conservatory will present another concert comprised entirely of musicians who have appeared on editions of the “30 Under 30” list. Generation Next features five award-winning Canadian artists on the cusp of international careers, including alumni Alexander Seredenko and Tony Yike Yang.
