Limited tickets remain for Louis Lortie

The Royal Conservatory of Music regrets to announce that, due to last-minute travel logistics beyond his control, Russian pianist Daniil Trifonov has been forced to withdraw from his Toronto appearance at Koerner Hall on March 28. He is truly disappointed, as he was looking forward to his third appearance in the Hall, and The Conservatory is working on rescheduling the recital for the 2017-18 concert season.

The Royal Conservatory ticket buyers have multiple options, including keeping their existing tickets for the rescheduled concert, exchanging their tickets for another concert during the 2016-17 concert season, exchanging them for a gift certificate, receiving a charitable tax receipt by donating ticket value to The Conservatory, or obtaining a refund.

Invesco Piano Concerts series concludes on April 9 with the fifth appearance of Louis Lortie and a handful of tickets are still available. On this occasion, Mr. Lortie performs an all-Chopin program, consisting of 12 Études, Op. 10, 12 Études, Op. 25, and 24 Preludes, Op. 28. The London Times describes the beloved Canadian pianist’s playing as “ever immaculate, ever imaginative” and celebrates his “combination of total spontaneity and meditated ripeness that only great pianists have.” The concert will be preceded at 7:15 pm by a pre-concert chat with Rick Phillips.
