Tim Price Named New Board Chair of The Royal Conservatory
Today The Royal Conservatory announced that Mr. Tim Price has been chosen to succeed Michael Foulkes as Chair of the Board of Directors. His term began on September 1, 2016.
“With decades of leadership and governance experience at corporations, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations, Tim is perfectly qualified to guide The Royal Conservatory into a new era as it expands its delivery of the transformative benefits of music and arts education to hundreds of communities across Canada. I am thrilled that an individual with such a distinguished history of high achievement and dedicated commitment to the improvement of the lives of Canadians has agreed to lead our Board.” says Dr. Peter Simon, President and CEO of The Royal Conservatory. “I also offer my deepest and most sincere thanks to departing Board Chair Michael Foulkes for his seven years of dedicated service to the RCM.”
He is active on two corporate boards, Canadian Tire Corporation and Fairfax Financial Holdings Inc., and has been active on several others in the past including Astral Media Inc., Brookfield Homes, HSBC Bank Canada, Morguard REIT, and Q9 Networks Inc.
In the community Mr. Price serves on the boards of St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation, The Shaw Festival, The Leacock Foundation, and the Dean's Advisory Board of the Schulich School of Business at York University.
